Avaya
Partner ACS 8.0 has many new
features over the ACS 7.0. Here
is a partial preliminary list of
improvements. We are now
shipping the new ACS R8 version.
Orders taken at this time will
be shipped on a first come first
served basis.
The New Avaya Partner Advanced
Communication System 8.0 initially
supports 5 Outside Lines and 9
Extensions. In comparison, the ACS 6.0
initially supported only 3 lines and 8
extensions.
The 8.0 now provides connection of up
to 2 Partner
ACS 012E expansion modules,
increasing the maximum station
capacity to 48. Also now comes with
flexible port paging, a faster
processor than the 6.0, a dedicated
administration port, 10/100 Ethernet
port for future enhancements/features,
enhanced PC administration software
and investment protection.
Other features include automatic phone
line selection, automatic daylight
savings time adjustment, phone line
ringing options, last number redial,
conference calling communications, do
not disturb.
Loud speaker paging, toll call
restriction, 100 programmable system
speed dial numbers and internal call
forwarding and call follow me.
Also, the new processor has dual line
caller ID support which puts the
caller's name and number on your
telephone display as well as caller ID
logging which will save the number and
time of all incoming calls.
There are 2
contact-closure connections to
control door locks, security systems,
and other devices by using
contact-closure adjunct. 2 PC Card
slots for backup/restore of system
programming, voice messaging PC cards,
ASA/DXD, and software upgrades and 2
power failure transfer ports.
Music on hold can easily be connected
via the MOH port for digital music on
hold system. The SMDR (Station Message
Detail Recording) port is a direct
output for call accounting
applications. Direct connection of
analog answering machines, fax
machines, telephones, and modems to
station ports is also an option.
The ACS R8 is cross compatible with
all Partner Voice Messaging PC Cards,
Partner Mail VS, and Partner Messaging
Release 6.0 and the new 7.0 voice mail
systems. Support of 1600 DSL module, a
module that contains up to 16 lines on
one line jack. Compatible with
Computer Telephony Integration via
PassageWay TAPI (Telephony Application
Program Interface) based solutions.
